A sought after and stunning 1:8th scale scratch built limited edition Amalgam Lewis Hamilton 2007 Mclaren MP4 -22 Formula One car model. This is the car and the driver that turned heads and set a new standard for driving with great skill and even greater honour. Scratch built to a limited edition of only 99 produced; this example is No.2 in that edition, happily coinciding with Hamilton's driving number and his eventual position at the end of the 2007 World Championship. This 1:8th scale Vodafone Mclaren MP4-22 Canada GP bridge nose version is the actual car that Hamilton drove to his first victory in 2007. The model benefits from the inclusion of various raw materials, to include a carbon fibre base, a full resin body, authentic rubber tyres, white metal castings and photo etched parts - all constructed from the original 'cad cam' drawings scaled down from Mclaren. The paint finish is stunning; using the exact paint as supplied by the team including the famous Mclaren 'Rocket Red'. Note the special detailing to include the body panel fasteners, the wheel air intakes, 'Boss' racing harness, real glass inset wing mirrors, wishbone suspension set up and even the FIA certificate and track map to the inside of the cockpit. The car is set onto a carbon fibre base with perspex case, incised plaque and certificate confirming that it is No.2 of 99 built. Sensational.
