H&H Classics has finished a successful 2025 with impressive individual hammer prices and an excellent sales rate at its last auction of the year.

One hundred and eight lots went under the hammer at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire on Wednesday 3rd December, with 80 finding new homes, representing a sales rate of 74 per cent and total sales of almost £2 million.

The auction concludes an impressive year for H&H Classics who sold over 1,300 vehicles during 2025, achieving a superb overall sales rate of 79 per cent and total sales of more than £18 million across cars, motorcycles and scooters.

Jaguars performed particularly well at the latest Millbrook sale and highlights of the auction included an exquisite 1959 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Litre Fixed Head Coupé. It had been subject to a ground-up, bare chassis restoration, and sold for £105,750, more than £35,000 above its lower estimate.

It is one of just circa 86 right-hand drive 3.4-litre ‘S’ variants produced and was beautifully presented in its original colour scheme of Cotswold Blue with a Dark Blue interior.

The marque was further represented by an older restored 1968 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Litre Fixed Head Coupe, one of just 374 ‘Series 1.5’ right-hand drive cars made, which was hammered away for £59,625, more than £9,000 above its lower estimate.

The car has matching chassis and engine numbers, featured in an advertising campaign and boasts an extensive history file dating back to the 1970s.

A 1964 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Coupé, a highly original garage find example with just two private owners, achieved £7,000 above its lower estimate when it fetched £27,000.

Meanwhile, a 1931 Sunbeam Twenty 23.8hp Weymann Sports Saloon, with delightful history file, found a new home for £24,750, more than £4,700 above its lower estimate.

James McWilliam, sales manager at H&H Classics, said: “It’s been a busy, and enjoyable, twelve months for H&H Classics and it was very pleasing to round off the year with some impressive hammer prices.

“These standout results are further evidence that cars with sensible estimates will achieve strong levels of interest.”

The highest price achieved on the day was claimed by a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 ‘Series IV’ Vantage with stunning Roman Purple paintwork which fetched £372,375. It is the only DB4 ‘Series IV’ Vantage of the forty-five made to be factory finished in the eye-catching hue.

A 2013 Bentley Mulsanne, used by HM King Charles III for multiple official engagements when he was the Prince of Wales and attracted much pre-sale interest, was hammered away for £73,125.

James added: “We have eleven auctions to look forward to in 2026, starting with our first sale at Kelham Hall in Newark on Wednesday 18th March.

Potential vendors looking to benefit from H&H’s thirty years plus of experience and global marketing reach are encouraged to get in contact to discuss their options.”
