High quality classics are in abundance for H&H Classics’ debut auction being held in the picturesque surroundings of Kelham Hall.

The much-anticipated sale, with a combined estimated value of over £3 million, comprises more than 60 classic, collector and performance motorcars, and almost 40 automobilia lots.

The auction takes place in Nottinghamshire on Wednesday 10th September, with no less than eight entries being given six-figure estimates.

This includes a stunning 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage, which has benefitted from extensive renovation work by marque specialist Adrian Johnson and been given a guide price of £220,000-£240,000.

Its appeal is heightened by the attractive colour scheme of metallic grey exterior and red leather interior, while it would be ideal for Continental touring.

Meanwhile, the most valuable lot going under the hammer is a splendid 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, one of only 209 alloy block, disc brake 300SL Roadsters ever made, though now fitted with a more robust cast-iron block, and estimated at £650,000-£750,000.

Bentley enthusiasts will have special interest in a beautifully restored 1957 Bentley S1 Continental Park Ward Drophead Coupé Adaptation, one of fewer than 50 right-hand drive S1 Continental chassis bodied by Park Ward to its Design Number 701, and expected to fetch between £180,000-£220,000.

James McWilliam, sales manager at H&H Classics, said: “Quality shines through in our debut auction at Kelham Hall, which is the perfect setting for such a fine assortment of desirable classic cars.”

Other notable lots include a 1976 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, estimated at £48,000-£55,000, and previously the property of well-known Formula One mechanic Kerry Adams.

Rare models are also well represented at the Kelham Hall Sale, not least with a 1962 Triumph Italia 2000 GT, the late production number 311 of just 330 examples produced, making it the rarest variant on the TR3B chassis. It has been given a guide price of £80,000-£100,000.

Other scarce examples going under the hammer include a 2000 Rolls-Royce Corniche V Convertible, one of fewer than 40 right-hand drive examples made and estimated at £60,000-£70,000, plus a 1966 TVR Griffith 200/400, one of just c.52 UK supplied examples and estimated at £55,000-£65,000.

The auction also sees eight classics entered at no reserve from the Dering Collection, which are the property of a racing driver. It includes a 1937 Bentley 4 ¼ Litre Saloon by Park Ward and a 1938 Austin Seven AAL Open Road Tourer.

Automobilia highlights include a Sean Connery Signed 1:18 Aston Martin DB5 Model and Figurine Presentation, estimated at £3,000-£5,000, and a 60-piece Toolkit for a 40-50HP Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, estimated at £4,000-£6,000.

All lots will be available to view in person at Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire, from midday on Tuesday 9th September and from 9am on Wednesday 10th September, while the sale then commences at 11am later the same day for automobilia and 12pm for motorcars. Anyone looking to bid can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid.
