The wider tracked and entirely new from the ground-up Fiat 124 replaced the previous 1300 model in 1966. The first saloons had an 1197cc engine, a 124 open spider came to market in 1966 and the 1967 launched 124 fixed head coupe sported a 1438cc version of the125 twin cam motor, which became optional for the 124 saloon in 1970. Progressively larger engines appeared under 124 bonnets with 1608cc, 1778cc and 1997cc engines offered.
The Cheshire vendor of the 1973-manufactured 124 Sport Coupe offered here tells us that it has only has three previous owners. The beige paintwork is claimed to be in very good condition and the brown interior excellent, with both 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine and 5-speed gearbox both reportedly in very good order too. The exhaust is in stainless steel and the wheels have been stove enamelled. The service history with the car indicates that over £5000 has been spent on parts alone. Indeed, the owner claims that it has to be one of the best examples of this stylish coupe around and is ready for a new owner to drive away from this sale.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
