Lot details Registration No: VLW909G Chassis No: DB6/3450/R Mot Expiry: March 2003
Replacing the DB5, the longer, heavier, but more spacious and luxurious DB6 MkI, which employed precicely the same 3995cc 282bhp engine as used for the DB5 (those with the more potent Vantage motor underbonnet having 2325bhp at their command) was made at Newport Pagnell from November 1965 until September 1969, by when 1225 coupes, 130 ‘Volante’ convertibles and nine shooting brakes had been produced - the latter bodied by Harold Radford or Panelcraft.
Said to have been first owned by the Conway Stewart Pen Company, the righthand drive Aston Martin DB6 with automatic transmission offered here has been in present ownership for over fifteen years. The entrant claims that the 60,302 miles showing on the odometer when entered for this sale is believed to have been the genuine total miles driven since the car was new in 1968. He describes the condition of the paintwork and interior as being fair and the engine and transmission reasonable. The full four passenger coupe (or, as it should be more correctly described in the case of this particular Aston Martin model, ‘saloon’) has been MOTd until March of next year and displays an historic vehicle road fund charge exempt tax disc that will not need renewing until the end of next February.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
