Lot details Registration No: 359 GGH Chassis No: Z74CO65919 Mot Expiry: 26.6.2002
Produced from 1963 to 1966 the Lotus Cortina MK1 was the most desirable of the Cortina range and they are still widely seen today in Historic racing and Rallying including of course the Top Hat series of which we are sponsors.
This very early 1963 example, which the first owner had for 26 years, has recently been professionally restored with a specification that includes a full FIA roll cage and door bars, L2 race camshafts, forged pistons, a competition fly wheel and clutch, a high compression oil pump, a lumenition ignition, a full respray was completed in 1998 and the engine was rebuilt in January 1999 and has only covered 100 miles since. A Bilstein suspension was fitted all round along with competition springs and many more competition components and the full specification and RAC historic identity papers can be found in the history file.
If you are looking for a full race specification Lotus Cortina then you will look no further as this is truly superb.
Please note: The V5 registration document for this car states the chassis number to be ...917 whereas it is in fact ...919 as now stated above on this form - it is incorrect in the catalogue. This is obviously a classic mistake by Swansea and will be altered by the owner but unfortunately not until after the sale.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
