Lot details
Registration No: R998FOS
Chassis No: Q2317
Mot Expiry: April 2010

Quantum Sports Cars was founded by Mark and Harvey Wooldridge in 1987 and the first car to roll off the production line was christened the Quantum Mark 1 Saloon. The car was based on the Mark 1 Ford Fiesta, conveniently utilizing all of its major components, fitted within sporting elongated, more rounded bodywork. Due to its reduced weight over the donor vehicle, performance was significantly improved. The third car produced was the first car available to the general public, after a short period of use for magazine road tests and promotional materials. By 1993 the firm had begun to offer a 2+2 convertible, also based on the Mark 2 Ford Fiesta, which was well received by the public and members of the motoring press, including Jeremy Clarkson, who tested the car along side his wife, with criticism based only on the smell of the new fiberglass!

Finished in metallic blue with black velour upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "excellent" condition with regard to its five-speed manual gearbox, 1600cc four cylinder engine, interior trim and bodywork, (while, he considers the car's paintwork to be "almost perfect"). A "self-build" example, 'R998 FOS' is said to have been built to "the highest standards", being "better finished than some luxury sports cars." Based on a Ford Fiesta XR2 and still produced to this date; therefore having the advantage of everything still being available (including advice). This tempting Quantum, said to have covered approximately 30,000 miles from new, is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until April 2010 and a road fund license valid until December of this year.
