Engine No: RC30E2100977

Judged at any level the Honda the VFR750R, better known as the RC30, is one of the greatest motorcycles produced. Built as an homologation special to provide a competitive machine in the new for World Superbike championship this "racer on the road" achieved numerous competition successes and proved to be an excellent road machine.
The new model was developed from the factories existing RVF750 which dominated the TT Formula 1 championship, winning it in 1985 and 1986, and the 1985 and 1986 Endurance Championships. The engine, employed four cylinders with a bore and stroke of 70 x 48.6mm mounted in pairs at 90 degrees to produce a compact power unit displacing 748cc. Double overhead cams and 35 mm carburettors were employed and a one way clutch helped to minimise rear wheel hop during down-changes.
A great deal on attention was paid to minimising the weight of the machine and producing a compact motorcycle. Twin aluminium radiators were employed and the frame, constructed from extruded aluminium alloy was complimented by a single sided swinging arm with "Pro Link" suspension in the interests of saving weight whilst maintaining rigidity. Conventional 43mm forks with multiple adjustment graced the front end and carried twin four piston callipers which acted upon twin 310mm discs.
"Out of the box" the machine was claimed to generate 112bhp with full road equipment, however this could be increased to 135bhp when prepared for competition use with the aid of the HRC race kit. The investment made in the models development was vindicated in its first season when Fred Merkel secured the Superbike World Championship in 1988, repeating the success in 1989. The new model instantly became one of the most sought after road bikes, receiving praise from all those who tested it, although its high price and limited availability ensured that those lucky enough to acquire one joined an exclusive club envied by others, today the RC30 remains as desirable as it was twenty years ago. This lovely, standard example is described by the vendor as being in good condition throughout.

PLEASE NOTE: The vendor has confirmed that the engine number is RC30E2100977 and the mileage is showing as 11,955km.
