Lot 69 - 1985 Audi Sport Quattro

1985 Audi Sport Quattro

Sold for £45,000

(including buyers premium)

Lot details
Registration No: C465YFX
Chassis No: WAUZZZ85ZEA905095
Mot Expiry: April 2006

This Audi Sport Quattro was first registered to German VAG/Audi dealers Hahn of Stuttgart 20 May 1985. The dealership principal then used the 4WD short-wheelbase coupe personally until, with the assistance of importers Hughes of Poole, it was acquired by the current second owner 27 November 1985, by when it had only done 9500 kilometres.
With UK registration C465 YFX, the two-door supercar was converted to right-hand drive by David Sutton Motorsport, who used to run rally Audi Quattros for the British importers. It was then enjoyed as a normal day-to-day road car for the next three years, the overall mileage increasing to 49,087 kilometres as confirmed by a January 1989 MOT. Following very intermittent use however, as evidenced by missing MOTs and tax discs, it was next safely stored.
During nearly twenty years, the vendor tells us no serious defects have been encountered, there have been no accidents, it has never been raced or rallied or subjected to track days. Cosmetic condition is claimed to be good, both clutch and exhaust still the originals with no signs of deterioration, and 2134cc five-cylinder engine good and five-speed gearbox excellent.
Prior to the last service (by the main Audi dealer in Hereford) and since 1985, servicing has been done by Woking specialists Bruce Durrant Engineering. Included are original purchase documents including export paperwork from Germany, UK registration document including SORN notice, tax discs and MOTs, handbook showing initial services by Hahn plus English translation of handbook, and service bills from 1995.
