Lot details Registration No: MVT750E Chassis No: 267781 Mot Expiry: Feb 2004
The entrant tells us that the Swedish coupe was restored about three years ago, subsequently being prepared for road rallying which is probably the most affordable of the traditional forms of motor sport. This early 123GT is rare and, being registered in 1967, is eligible under Motor Sports Association regulations as an Historic rather than a Post Historic category rally car. Potentially, therefore, this car could be extremely competitive.
It would certainly seem to have been very well prepared, the specialist rally equipment including engine sump protecting guard, Retrotrip to record accurate mileages when tackling regularity sections, battery switch to isolate electrics, rally seats with increased support for crew members and full safety harness belts to keep them in their seats during low flying!
The owner tells us that bodywork, red and white paintwork and beige interior are all good, and the 1780cc 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed gearbox also in good order. There is plenty of MOT and tax disc time in hand, so it really is rally-ready.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
