Britain's oldest car company started when Frederick Richard Simms' British Motor Syndicate set-up workshop for the Daimler Motor Company to make motor cars at Foleshill, Coventry, way back in 1896.
The entrant from the North East of this 1972-made Daimler DS420 tells us that the Vanden Plas crafted limousine has seen little use over the past eight years during which time it has only been driven 15,000 miles, solely for weddings service - as, indeed, the very distinctive and highly appropriate registration, which comes with the limo, might suggest. The 63,884 miles indicate when entered for this sale is believed to be the genuine total mileage for the car from new.
The bodywork is described as being in good shape and the white paintwork fair. The blue trimmed interior is said to be in good condition, the 4.2-litre 6-cylinder Jaguar engine in good order, all the electrical equipment serviceable and the 3-speed automatic transmission fair. The MOT test certificate and tax disc are current until March and February of next year respectively.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
