Known as the poor man's 'E' Type in the early seventies, the Triumph GT6 coupe offered a lot better performance than it's sister car the Triumph Spitfire.
This particular car has been with it's present owner for fourteen years and in 1997 the car was runner up at the Triumph Sports Six Club annual international concours event against fierce competition. It has undergone a three-year total restoration of the chassis and running gear, the body was completely stripped down for replacement of all body parts and floors and included a new bonnet. A full photographic history file comes with the car and the mileage of 97847 is believed to be correct and can be supported by many MOT certificates. Following the restoration the car completed a trouble-free two and a half thousand miles tour of the Scottish Highlands.
There were only thirteen thousand and forty two MKIII GT6's built and the majority of these were for export making this original UK car a very rare sports car. As everyone's idea of standards differ the only way to appreciate the style and beauty of this GT6 is by viewing it and judging for yourself!
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
