Lot details Registration No: PHP 727 Chassis No: T533920 Mot Expiry: 31.03.2001
We are very pleased to offer today this Triumph TR2 which has travelled from Ireland for today's sale and is a genuine right hand drive example. The British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate shows that it was built on the 2nd September 1954 in Coventry and was apparently allocated to the company's publicity department. Although there is no recorded evidence of it being a motor show car, it is known to have been road tested by Motorsport magazine in 1954.
It has been described as being in excellent condition throughout by the vendor and still carries the original registration of PHP 727. The history file contains the overdrive gearbox, the aforementioned heritage certificate, a Northern Ireland log book and registration document and there is a copy of the article from the Motorsport magazine, which is dated February 1955 showing the car on test.
This is a delightful little car that seems to have a very interesting history.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
