The vendor of this 1960-made Riley 1.5 tells us that the history file is large and includes a full record of the specification following the rebuild and competition preparation. The engine has been uprated with the fitment of a higher lift rally cam, an unleaded petrol friendly cylinder head and twin HS6 SU carbs.
Driver and navigator protection has been enhanced by full roll cage and full harnesses for both rally seats, which recline. Navigational equipment includes a Retrotrip, map reading light, Poti magnifier power socket and stop watches. The owner describes the condition of saloon bodywork as being good, grey paint fair, and both 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed gearbox in good order.
Importantly, this Riley has also been issued with a FIVA Passport, enabling it to take part in most long distance Continental events, while being Historic category eligible for UK road rallies run under MSA rules. It could also be fairly quickly converted for historic saloon car racing and would make an ideal starter machine for Top Hat events.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
