Mot Expiry: April 2010

Developed under the watchful eye of Porsche Chief Executive Peter Schutz, the 911 Carrera 3.2 made its debut at the September 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show. Visually indebted to the outgoing 911 SC, the newcomer wore a revised front valance complete with auxiliary driving lamps and a subtle `Carrera' script on its engine lid. Available in coupe, targa and cabriolet guises, it remained faithful to established 911 practice by employing all-round independent torsion-bar suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. Estimated to be 80% new, the model's 3164cc (hence `3.2') flat-six engine was credited with developing 231bhp and 209lbft of torque. Allied to five-speed transmission, it proved both rev-happy and flexible. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and 153mph, the Carrera 3.2 was progressively developed over the course of its six-year production run.

The vendor describes this cabrio as "excellent" in respect of the bodywork, "very good" in terms of the paintwork following a bare-metal respray in 2005 (photographs available) and "good" with regard to the engine, electrics and interior, though he notes a small wear tear in the driver's seat. He adds: "I first purchased the vehicle in 1992, sold it on in 1995 and repurchased it in 1999 when it had covered approximately 60,000 miles. I have all the MOT certificates dating back to 1993 and the mileage is now 84,610. It benefited from a new top and tyres, pads and discs, in August 2003. During my ownership it has just been used over summertime weekends and has been regularly serviced and had oil changes despite having only covered a low mileage - documentation enclosed". The Porsche is offered for sale with a V5C and current MOT, while its road fund licence runs until October.
