The 1982-launched LeBaron range of sedan, coupe or convertible models was the Chrysler Corporation's answer to the market's preference for something more compact in both body size and engine capacity. The LeBarons were powered by a 2212cc Chrysler 4-cylinder motor, mounted transversely, driving the front wheels. Equivalent platform models produced by other Chrysler owned marques were the Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliant, which, along with the LeBaron, formed the Chrysler K cars.
This 1988-manufactured Chrysler LeBaron convertible, finished in steel blue metallic with pale blue leather interior and fitted with alloys, has only had one previous owner. The Welsh vendor tells us that the turbocharged 140bhp engine, which runs perfectly satisfactorily on unleaded fuel, has proved to be very economical, averaging 30-35 to the gallon. The spares availability from Chrysler US, he says, has been fine. Whilst the overall condition of the open bodywork, paint, trim, 2.2 engine, 5-speed transmission and tyres are all in good condition. The car has the benefit of having cruise control.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
