Lot details Registration No: HGH 444 Chassis No: C1600007 Mot Expiry: June 2003
Early in 1943 Armstrong Siddeley began planning their new post war products and a new engineering team went to work on the car project, with Sidney Thornett as chief engineer, G. Mervyn Cutler in charge of development and Percy Riman as body designer. They were first to announce their new postwar car and the Hurricane was presented to the public on 11th May 1945.
This superb example dating from 1945 was the subject of an extensive £19,000 restoration, taking two years from 1999, and included a bare metal respray, an engine rebuild, the fitment of many new parts, including a new radiator and tyres and it can only be described as being in excellent order throughout. This is a very rare car indeed and the history file contains the receipts for the restoration work and a current MOT certificate until June 2003 and it is taxed until September.
This is a simply beautiful car that was recently the runner-up in an Owners Club Concour d'Elegance and it would grace any collection of lovely cars.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
