Lot details Registration No: AXW 807 Chassis No: 11266 Mot Expiry: Jan 2001
We are pleased to offer this excellent example of an original Cross and Ellis four seater tourer. First supplied to the supercharging Lord Amherst, the factory records show that there were two further acquisitions to 1945 and we are informed that it is still a fully matching numbered car.
A full body off restoration was completed by the previous owner between 1995 and 1997 and only some 500 miles have been completed since. During the rebuild the running gear, chassis, bodywork, timber framing, wiring, instruments and magneto were fully overhauled and the chrome, carpets, trim, hood, sidescreens, tonneau cover and wheels were renewed. Although the engine was not rebuilt at this time it is in good running order with good oil pressure and the gearbox is good with a new clutch fitted.
This lovely original aluminium bodied car comes with a good history including a current V5 registration document, some old MOT certificates, an Alvis factory record card and club history and various bills and receipts.
A rare and desirable car in very good order.
Please note: We have suggested in the write-up that the wheels have been renewed. This is incorrect - they have been refurbished and respoked but they are the original wheels.
Please note: The Speed 20 has a 2511cc engine and not the one as listed in the catalogue.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
