We’ve all heard of the McLaren F1, and their values, a supercar of supercars that debuted just over 30 years ago now, but now jump to 2009, when McLaren launched the MP4-12C car and the promise of a car that utilised advances in composites manufacturing technology and the new Woking factory in 2011. Styled by Frank Stephenson, who had been recruited from Alfa Romeo Centro Stile following spells with Ferrari and FIAT, the MP4-12C used a carbon-fibre MonoCell tub that was more easily produced to meet production numbers and retail schedules, in a timely fashion. A more conventional car, seating abreast for two, rather than the famous layout for 3 on the F1, the 12C still had the dihedral doors, maintaining a familial link with the F1.

The MP4-12C offered was supplied new by McLaren London to its first keeper, being first registered on the 1^st of June that year. Finished in Graphite Grey with Carbon Black leather and Alcantara interior upholstery with Red stitching, the specification of the McLaren includes carbon ceramic brakes with McLaren orange calipers, lightweight forged and diamond cut alloy wheels, 7-speed SSG transmission, Stealth pack, IRIS system with DSP, Meridian surround sound system with 7 speakers, 64 GB hard drive, electric and heated memory seats, electric folding and heated mirrors, parking sensors front and rear, cruise control, hill hold assist, vehicle tracking system, volumetric alarm, dual-zone climate control, and McLaren branded floor mats.

Entering into current lady ownership during September 2018, the McLaren has seen limited and careful use since, shown in the excellent condition of this MP4, with virtually no stone chips or road rash. A pleasingly low mileage example having covered only 12,500 miles from new, the MP4-12C boasts McLaren main agent servicing. Offered with the original book pack with handbooks and service book, the service book illustrates a strong service history which is documented below, the most recent being very few miles previous, and also included an air-conditioning system re-gas. The McLaren is also offered with two sets of keys, a current V5C document, and a no advisory MOT certificate until February 2025.
