Lot details
Registration No: OLN951P
Chassis No: 9116301791
Mot Expiry: April 2007

Introduced in August 1975 (for the 1976 model year), the Porsche 911 I-series boasted a fully galvanised monocoque bodyshell, electric driver's side door mirror and improved security / locks. Powered by a choice of 2.7 or 3.0 litre SOHC flat six-cylinder engines (both units featuring the turbocharged 930's four-journal camshafts and more efficient five-blade cooling fan), it could be had with either five-speed manual or three-speed sportmatic transmissions. Remaining faithful to the 'tried-and-tested' recipe of all-round independent torsion-bar suspension (tempered by front / rear anti-roll bars), four wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering, the revised range proved a rewarding if sometimes challenging drive. Better equipped than many of its predecessors, the I-series 2.7 Lux model included such niceties as electric windows and a sunroof. With a quoted 165bhp and 176lbft of torque on tap, it was reputedly capable of 135mph and 0-60mph in 7.8 seconds.
Finished in white with contrasting 'chequered flag' cloth upholstery, this particular example is variously described by the vendor as being in "good" (2687cc engine, five-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, chassis, wheels / tyres) or "excellent" (interior trim, bodywork, paintwork) condition. Believed to be the correct total from new, its recorded mileage of 76,000 is partially substantiated by a series of MOT certificates dating back to 1989 (which also show that it has only done 22,000 miles in the last seventeen years). Reportedly "sold new to the Rolex watch company in Bexley, Kent" and "featured in Porsche Post magazine Autumn 1993", it was apparently kept by its "last owner for over thirteen years". Riding on ATS 'cookie-cutter' alloys, this "superb" 911 is offered for sale with "original service book", manuals and sundry bills.

PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has an MOT until April 2007.
