Volvo was founded in 1927 under the management of Assar Garbielson and with backing from the SKF ball bearing firm. Before World War II it built solid and uninspired middle range products but the PV444 of the immediate post war period gave the company a reputation for cars with good road holding and fine build quality and they went on to become excellent rally exponents.
This original left hand drive, they were never originally supplied to Britain, example of the PV444 we have on offer for you today dates from 1947 and is described s being in very good condition throughout. It was restored by Volvo apprentices and stored in the factory museum until 1990 until purchase by a UK Volvo dealer as his showroom exhibit.
The history file contains a Swedish parts manual and handbook and various photographs of the restoration as well as the current V5 registration document. A delightful example of this extremely rare car.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
