We are pleased to offer a very rare Mercedes-Benz Type 130 Cabriolet-Limousine which was a really innovative design from the studios of Hans Nibel. They came in saloon format with or without a sunshine roof or with the cabriolet-limousine coachwork and had the independant all round suspension with the engine being rear mounted in the backbone chassis.
A letter from Mercedes Benz confirms that it was dispatched from Sindelfingen on October 10th 1934, further to an order from London in August of the same year, but they cannot confirm how many were indeed imported - suffice it to say that were not many. This extremely rare and original right hand drive example has only had two private owners since 1983 and indeed it has been used only very sparingly in the last owner's six year tenancy. It was restored by the previous owner and it has never been out in the rain since and it has covered a mere 2000 miles since the restoration was completed. It comes with its original handbook and parts catalogue as well as many bills detailing the work completed and it is a must for the discerning collector.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
