In October 1952 the Donald Healey Motor Company showed a stunning open sports car at the Earls Court Motor Show and it became Austin's answer to Sir John Black's Triumph TR2. All Austin Healey's were immensely popular in the United States of America and by far the majority of the production went there which is why original UK supplied right hand drive cars are so desirable in today's market.
We are very pleased to offer you today this wonderful example, which has been completely restored further to it being re-imported from the United States of America in 1998. There is an extensive range of photographs in the history file to show each stage of the work and the engine has been rebuilt to take unleaded fuel and the gearbox and overdrive have been rebuilt as well. It stands on new chrome wire wheels and tyres and a new stainless steel fuel tank, the tonneau cover, the hood and new trim have been replaced to their original specification.
It is absolutely in stunning condition throughout, finished in arguably the best colour of ice blue metallic with the complementary navy trim, and this car was driven to Le Mans last June to run it in. There's faith for you.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
