The E-Type replacing XJS appeared in Jaguar dealer showrooms from 1975. Being powered by the 3590cc six-cylinder engine and having the benefit of a five-speed manual gearbox, this XJS coupe, which first left the soon to be shut down Browns Lane factory in Coventry in 1988, is relatively rare. According to the entrant, even after sixteen years, the right-hand drive fixed head is totally unmarked both inside and out, coming with a full MOT, which will not require renewal until next November, and having been in receipt of a recent air conditioning overhaul.
The bodyshell, above and below, is said to be in very good condition and the red paintwork immaculate. The oatmeal interior is reportedly as new, whilst both 3.6-litre engine and transmission are in superb order and the electrical equipment very good. The 91,690 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage from new. It drives as well as it looks, we are told, the vendor saying that one would be hard to find a better example.
