We would be forgive you if you had never heard of O.S.I. but they were a manufacturer located directly across the road from Ford's Ghia design studio in Turin. The company was founded in 1959 and this car was a result of Ford of Germany's decision to build a sports coupe to attract more customers into its showrooms. The car was based on a Ford Taunus and was first seen at the 1966 Geneva salon and it was only in production from 1967 to 1968 when it gave way to the Capri.
This particular car is believed to be one of only two in the U.K. and it is still in its original left hand drive format and has the Ford 2300cc V6 engine and the manual gearbox. It has been stored for the last seven years having been first registered in 1968 and imported and registered in the U.K. in 1981 and it has only had one registered keeper from new and he purchased it new in France and then brought it to England with him.
There are lots of old MOT's and service bills in the history file and it received a full bare metal respray a few years ago. We feel that the estimate for this car will prove to be very inexpensive in the future as
this is a rare car which has wonderful lines and the usual sumptuous Italian interior.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
