The Derbyshire couple who have entered this 1954-manufactured Austin-Healey 100/4 BN1 tell us they first acquired their 2.6-litre 4-cylinder sports car as a restoration project and a total rebuild was then carried out by Harold Everard of Leamington, whose son Jonathan still runs Healey specialists JMW in the Midland Spa town to this day. Harold and indeed Jon, as an apprentice, both worked for the original Donald Healey Motor Company in Warwick before setting up their own restoration and rally preparation business for the marque and really know their Austin-Healeys. According to the entrants, the Everard refurbishment, which was carried out during the 1980s, cost £12,000.
Having been thoroughly enjoyed over the ensuing years, today, the open bodywork of what is still one of the great classic designs for a sports car is said to be in excellent order as is the all-important chassis. The BRG paintwork and black interior are described as being in fair condition, whilst the engine is reportedly excellent and the 4-speed manual transmission good. The odometer recorded a mileage of 51,105 when entered for the sale and the vehicle has only just been MOT tested, passing in fine form.
As you will note, this righthand drive and very British 100/4 has been very sensibly guide priced and therefore could turn out to be excellent value for money for a fortunate new owner here today. That owner could be you!
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
