Nobody was more pleased at the 1955 launch of the T-Bird than the American Ford dealers, who were desperate to have something to provide competition for GMs racy Corvette. The left-hand drive example on offer was imported from St Louis, Missouri in 2007 with its first UK keeper being Motorbike racer Eddie Roberts. Purchased by the current vendor in 2010 this impressive T-Bird is equipped with the optional 312ci (5.1-litre) V8 engine driving through 'Ford-O-Matic' automatic transmission and is offered with both hard and soft-tops, power steering, power brakes and is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system. Included in the sale are parts books, collection of old MOT's and as a Multiple 'Best in Show' winner a collection of trophies are also included. Well known in show circles the notable achievements have been car of the year in the 2010 classic America event and also competed for the car of the year at the NEC classic car show in November 2010.
