Offered here is arguably what has to be one of the best value Ferraris in the marketplace today, an easily completed, Pininfarina styled 308GT4 with engine removed for overhaul. This is supplied but not refitted, and bills detailing the work carried out on the engine also are included. Being of 1976 manufacture, the Maranello classic has Ferrari rather than Dino badging as appeared on earlier cars. As already mentioned, the 3-litre 8-cylinder motor has been professionally refurbished, whilst the 5-speed manual transmission is reportedly in good order and the clutch checked out with, additionally, a brand new spare unit supplied. The tyres are also reportedly brand new. The fixed head coupe bodywork is also rated as being good, the metallic silver paintwork, which was repainted in 1995 apparently, very good and the interior in blue cloth excellent. The Midlands vendor advises us that although this most interesting and likely to be highly rewarding project is largely complete, some components are absent, namely the exhaust system, driveshafts and airbox as well as a few other relatively minor items. However, as the Italian classic has been off the road and in storage for the last seven years, the only 24,800 miles displayed on the odometer is believed to be the total mileage. Potentially highly affordable, this Ferrari is being sold today on a strictly as seen basis. Nonetheless, the project has to be well worthwhile taking on.
