Very few can afford a real racing GTA, so here is the next best thing. Manufactured in 1967, this sensational car originally started out as a 1300GT Junior road car but by 1997 it had been transformed into a potent 2-litre historic racecar for Tony Collins, a regular driver in historic circles. Prepared to HRSR regulations, allowing the larger capacity engine, MAA677F was a natural candidate for the then newly formed 'Top Hat' historic endurance race series in which it has since been a stalwart regular, in the hands of Irish driver, Ivor Miller.
Prepared with a Richard Drake engine running out 155 bhp on twin 45mm carburettors, power is delivered via a c/r gearbox through a LSD axle. It is professionally race prepared to current MSA safety regulations with Harvey Bailey suspension and cosmetic detail has also been expertly observed to the point that this car is often mistaken for an original GTA Corsa - right down to its Jochen Rindt Sebring livery. To replicate this racer would cost £20K plus and so quality historic racing has never been more accessible.
Please note: There are a set of race tyres and wheels included with the car which can be viewed in the documentation office but there is also a set of five 5x15 minilite copies, which are brand new & unused, and they are available by separate negotiation with the owner.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
