Converted to a Gold Star tribute several years ago
Correct Gold Star top end
Said to be in good running order
The Birmingham Small Arms factory was established in the Small Heath area of Birmingham in 1861 and, as the name suggests, manufactured weapons. Around the turn of the century, they started making bicycles and progressed onto motorcycles a few years later. BSA went on to be one of the world's largest producers of motorcycles until its demise in the early 1970s. Its range in the early 1950s included the B33, a handsome and dependable 500cc single conceived for general-purpose everyday use, as well as the racing-inspired Gold Star, which was the stuff of every enthusiast’s dreams. They were also built with 350 and 500cc singles, but were completed to an exceptionally high state of tune.
This very handsome started Gold Star tribute started life as a 1954 B33, but it was renovated at some stage in the past with a Gold Star top end while retaining the standard B33 bottom end and gearbox, while many parts such as the polished fuel tank and mudguards, the double seat, the clip-on handlebars and the racy exhaust pipe convincingly simulate the Gold Star’s appearance. Although sadly lacking history, it has clearly seen some use and is said to by the vendor to be in “good” condition all-round and running well. Temptingly offered at no reserve, the current V5C is supplied.
