Lot details Registration No: OUG852F Chassis No: DB63294R Mot Expiry: None
This stunning car is not incorrectly described as a Drophead rather than a Volante because it was originally a saloon and was converted and restored at a cost of over £40000 by Paul Banham of Bromley in 1989/90.
It was found by the present owner as a non-runner in September 1985 and the restoration included the strenghthening of the sills, bulkheads, chassis members, wheelarches and engine bay panels and it was resprayed in Suffolk Red. It was re-trimmed in Black leather and an unpowered mohair hood fitted, the engine was rebuilt, a new braking system, new wire wheels and tyres were fitted and the brightwork was re-chromed.
It has power steering and a manual five speed ZF gearbox has been fitted and it has been regularly serviced by Aston specialists since the restoration and shows good oil pressure. The owner has completed approximately 2000 miles a year since 1990 and although the car is not as pristine as it was then it is still in very good condition throughout. There is a photographic record of the restoration, many receipts and all the previous MOT certificates in the history file and this is an exceptional car in lovely all round condition.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
