The Bentley T1 saloon we have on offer for you today is one of only 637 models to be manufactured compared to the several thousand Silver Shadows, its sister car, that were made.
Until 1976 the car was owned by Sir James Collins, a Scottish Land Owner, and it was used to chauffeur him to and from his work place in London. It was then bought by a Yorkshire businessman in 1986 who kept it for four years before placing it in dry and secure storage and in 1994 it was sold to Surjeet Khela of the Bon Marche fashion chain. Although it had been well stored it was placed in the hands of Walker and Bamforth, Yorkshire's leading Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists, where work was undertaken to the tune of some £5000 in returning it to A1 condition. Mr Khela however did not use the vehicle and it was stored in his Yorkshire mansion until John Bamforth of Walker and Bamforth acquired the vehicle in 1999 with the intention of showing it at Rolls-Royce and Bentley events. Sadly he has never found the time to fulfill this ambition and this very collectable vehicle is now offered for sale.
It is in excellent condition throughout and whilst the 61000 recorded miles cannot be warranted it is believed to be genuine from new and in the car's history file you will find invoices for the work carried out during the restoration of the car together with the V5 registration document.
Please note that there were 1867 cars manufactured and not 637 as stated above.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
