This extraordinary £100,000 vehicle, manufactured by GMC in 1993 and converted to carry Vendura Daycar/MPV coachwork in Geneva in 1994, was commissioned by an Arab Sheik. First registered in the United Arab Emirates, it was exported to the Isle of Man in 1998 and passed all UK test procedures.
The certainly likely to be unique 4-wheel drive vehicle has been fitted out like a luxury yacht, the air-conditioned interior trimmed in two-tone leather and Wilton carpet, the fascia in walnut. In-car entertainment is very well catered for with TV, video, radio, stereo-cassette and remote CD system piped to rear passengers by earphones. An electrically-operated bench seat can be converted to a double bed and all the seats swivel if required. Window blinds cope with daytime glare or privacy at night, the spec including picnic table, cooker, fridge, side-steps, tow bar, alloy wheels, central locking and alarm system. All the electrics, backed -up by secondary battery, are said to be working well, the interior lighting being particularly impressive.
