In 1984 the 3.6 litre engine, with the 24 valve head, was introduced into the XJS and most of them were produced with the manual five-speed Getrag gearbox. The more noticeable engine note reminded one a little of the 'E' Type and externally it was distinguishable by its large bonnet bulge and performance times were quite brisk giving 0-60 in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 145mph and reasonable economy.
This particular example, which dates from 1986, is a fine example of the rare cabriolet and was originally owned by Jaguar Cars. It was the subject of a sympathetic restoration by the last owner which included the fitment of some new panels and a compete re-spray. It also benefits from having the rear seat conversion fitted, which makes it ideal for the Jaguar enthusiast with children, and it also comes with the much needed stamped Jaguar service book.
Now extremely rare they are great for touring.
