The beautiful little 1965-made MG Midget on a C-reg being auctioned is a fully restored UK market car. Finished in Tartan red with black leather interior piped in red, it is powered by a BMC A Series of 1275cc capacity and benefits, says the Cheshire vendor, from having been restored over a twelve year period, the work only completed in 1998, since when he says it has only been driven around 1500 miles.
We are advised that during the rebuild, all the panelwork was replaced, including all four wings, both inner and outer panels, as well as floor, both doors and boot lid renewed. The brightwork has been rechromed, too, the engine converted to run on unleaded and rear axle rebuilt. The detailing of both interior and engine bay are said to be superb and the car is really set off by being shod with new chrome wires.
The best news for any potential new owner, however, is that here is a superbly presented Midget, which may be landed for a fraction of the restoration costs involved.
