The Lambretta TV175 series 2 was launched in October 1959. Often referred to as the ‘tourer’ it had a superb performance coupled with beautiful styling and has been hugely sought after for many years by collectors. Presented here is a very unique TV175 series 2 customisation. Our vendor is a very particular collector and has commissioned all of his scooters to the highest possible specification. One thing unusual is that he despite his love for Lambrettas he has never had a license to ride and therefore all of his scooters are virtually unused. The restoration and customisation of this scooter was entrusted to The Scooter Hub of Nottingham, well known for high-end restorations.

Owned by our vendor since 2015 this is a scooter with a difference. Classic looks but with impressive full specification by Scooter Hub which is included along with confirmation of the restoration cost and an agreed insurance valuation from 2015, both are £14,000. Mechanically the list is exhaustive. The power unit is a genuine TV Series 3 engine casing with the better large silent blocks housing a BGM 225cc performance cylinder with reed-valve fitted to the inlet port fuelled by a Dellorto PHBH 30mm carburettor, six plate BGM clutch and show-quality chromed BGM Clubman exhaust. The controls and handling equipment begin with MB Developments stainless steel engine controls. The tank is an aluminium long range Oil Tek version with fast flow fuel tap. Many of the engine and mechanical parts have been mirror polished and include the engine casing, stainless steel kick-start lever, PM Tuning supplied stainless steel front forks and links, the PM Tuning supplied single hydraulic disc front brake assembly and the PM front and rear shock absorbers. It is interesting to see that the brake light is activated by both front lever and brake pedal with the dual assembly under the floor. The wheels are SIP aluminium tubeless with quality Continental whitewall tyres. Electronically the scooter has been converted to 12v with a BGM ignition/lighting system and Ketch auto-advance/retard ignition module. Presented in what appears to us as flawless paint with side panel murals of the legendary soul label Stax logo. The accessories include front and rear crash bars, clamp on mirrors, a front carrier, rear carrier 3 in one version, front mudguard bumper bar, aluminium side protectors to the floor boards, polished stand feet, a perspex clear flyscreen, and Casa rubber floor mat. The ‘Pegasus’ style seat, spare wheel carrier and back rest pad all recovered in Connelly red matching hide. We noted that the panels are all seemingly genuine TV series 2 and fit nicely. The scooter is registered as a 225cc scooter and is in fine ‘as new’ running condition having done only 1.5 miles since the above extensive restoration.
