- RHD example finished in white with black leather

- c.24,000 recorded miles

- Understood to have been imported from Hong Kong c.2000

Introduced in December 1981, the Biturbo was Maserati's first 'mass production' design. Instigated by the marque's then owner, Alejandro De Tomaso, it utilized a monocoque chassis equipped with McPherson-strut front and trailing-arm rear suspension, power-assisted rack and pinion steering, a limited slip differential and disc brakes. Powered by a reworked version of the Italian market Merak 2-litre V6 engine featuring three-valves per cylinder (two inlet, one exhaust) and twin turbochargers (one per bank), the initial launch model was capable of an impressive 135mph. However, as the range grew to encompass four-door and Spyder variants (the latter styled by Zagato) so the installation of larger 2.5 litre and 2.8 litre powerplants brought even greater performance. In 2.8-litre guise, as in the car offered here, the unit produced some 255bhp giving a top speed of over 150 mph.

The 430 SE featured later-style bumpers, side skirts and wider wheels and this RHD four-door example is understood to have been delivered new to Hong Kong in 1989 and subsequently imported into the UK in 2000. It was then used mainly during the summer months and spent just 3 years on the road before being put away into dry storage, until a previous owner purchased the car. According to an old advertisement when being offered for sale by a previous owner, it then underwent a detailed service before being put back on the road. This included a new cam-belt, A/C belt, power steering belt, alternator belt, engine oil, oil filter, air filter, diff oil, gear box oil and a general tune up. Further work was subsequently carried out by www.jjperformance.co.uk following a change of ownership in 2012 including the fitment of a new battery, re-cored radiator, new track rod ends and replacement of the rear exhaust with a stainless version. A previous owner also had the fusebox fully refurbished. This work was carried out by an expert in USA after it was removed by jjperformance.

The vendor now describes the bodywork, paintwork, engine, transmission and interior as being in "very good" condition and F86 APX is accompanied by a Swansea V5 and current MoT to February 2018.
