Lot details Registration No: MLE370P Chassis No: 2771219 Mot Expiry: June 2004
This BMW 2002 Tii, a right-hand drive 2-door, was built in Munich in 1975 and first registered in the UK in January 1976 for use by a staff member of BMW Concessionaires. The car was sold to the first private owner in December of that year, the car thereafter passing through the hands of a further seven owners, until acquired by the Hampshire vendor in 1993. He tells us that a complete restoration was commenced in 1995.
The chassis was found to be sound and body panels free of rust, being given a respray in the current metallic red. The seats were retrimmed as original in black cloth, the carpets being found to be good condition. Wiring was renewed, and lights and starter renewed. The 1990cc 4-cylinder engine, rebuilt by a BMW dealer, was found to be basically sound, only requiring renewal of bearings, piston rings, oil seals and gaskets, and since giving nearly 2000 miles trouble-free service. The 4-speed manual transmission was also overhauled.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
