The Lambretta TV175 Series 2 was launched in October, 1959. It had an engine based on the Li150 series but with an increased capacity and the crankshaft, barrel, piston and gearbox ratio were changed. The front forks were fitted with external shock absorbers. The Rear plate and fork links were redesigned to cope with the extra power. The TV175 models were fitted with a Veglia 120 km/h or 70 mph speedometer face and a dual seat. The ‘Lambretta’ and ‘TV175’ side panel badges were attached to the panels with small nuts as opposed to the riveted badges on the series 2 Li panels. Often referred to as the ‘tourer’ it had a superb performance coupled with beautiful styling and has been hugely sought after for many years by collectors.

This extremely pretty TV175 was commissioned in 2017. The scooter was upgraded to a 186 reed valve engine with 25mm carburettor and chrome Ancillotti exhaust and according to our vendor is ‘very quick’. The scooter has recently been upgraded to 12v variatronic ignition and electrics. The seat is one of the premium ‘Rimini’ Pegasus style seats that cost £658 alone and was purchased only 3 years ago. With BGM wheel rims and running on Continental whitewall tyres the upgrades are all sensible options that do not detract from the unique flavour of this customisation.

In our opinion, the most stunning aspect of this machine is the paintwork. Using metalflake ‘flip paint’ over chrome. The colour changes with the light. The metalflake is also lightly present in the other Light Blue panel work and the whole thing glimmers. There are a number of accessories that complement the paintwork including: Jag lights, rear number plate surround, sprint rack, Footboard extensions, front bumper, spare wheel holder, candy trim, fork boot covers and a period badge bar with interesting badges including a rare French St. Cristopher. Purchased in 2017, for almost £8,000, the scooter has since had further expense of the premium seat, 12v and engine upgrades.

PLEASE NOTE: We were informed that Disco Dez had assembled the scooter only after the catalogue was printed.
