`RDU 989' was manufactured in 1955 and, according to the vendor, has had just four owners from new. The previous keeper evidently retained it for 11 years, during which time he treated the Daimler to a `no expense spared' restoration; since when it has been kept in dry storage. One of very few Regency II models produced, and felt to be among the best of perhaps only six still in existence, the sale car is finished a pleasing combination of Silver over Burgundy and trimmed in Red leather. The vendor considers the very low indicated mileage of 47,758 to be correct and is offering this stately motorcar complete with tax disc valid until the end of January. The standard Barker-bodied Regency II was equipped with either 3.5 or 4.5-litre engine coupled to Daimler's traditional pre-selector gearbox via a fluid flywheel - `RDU 989' features the smaller of the two powerplants.
