Lot details

Registration No: C479 LFM
Chassis No: WBAAC52000059054
MOT: June 2022

  • Timewarp example that has had just one previous owner and covered a mere 64,700 miles from new
  • Supplied new by Red Rose Motors of Chester and retains its full book pack with nineteen recorded services
  • Recently refurbished alloys shod with fresh tyres, MOT'd till June 2022

Styled by Claus Luthe who had also been responsible for penning the NSU Ro80, the E30-generation of BMW’s long-running 3-Series has become a cult classic. The entry level model - the 316 - was introduced in 1982 and powered by a free-revving 1766cc SOHC engine that developed some 89bhp and 103lbft of torque. Weighing just under 1000kg, the 316 was surprisingly sprightly with a quoted 109mph top speed. Facelifted in 1987, saloon versions of the E30 remained in production until 1991.

Finished in Lapis Blue with Blue cloth upholstery, ‘C479 LFM’ was supplied new to its previous keeper by Red Rose BMW of Chester. Warranted to have covered just 64,700 miles (a figure substantiated by nineteen main dealer and specialist service stamps), the 316 pleasingly retains its original book pack, dealer plates and two keys. Riding on recently refurbished alloy wheels shod with fresh tyres, the four-door saloon is described by the vendor as being in ‘excellent overall’ condition with regards to its engine, five-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, bodywork, paintwork and interior trim. A true timewarp that seemingly still wears the majority of its factory paint and boasts an unusually well preserved interior, ‘C479 LFM’ is worthy of close inspection.
