The range of Mercedes-Benz four-doot saloons, five-door estates, two-door coupes and two-door cabriolets have constantly evolved over the years as improvements and upgrades were introduced, and engine options with more sophisticated specification and increased capacity were offered. The 1968 model year saw new, more aerodynamic shaped Type 114/115 bodyshells with vertical headlamp treatment introduced, which formed the mainstay of the M-B passenger car range until, in their turn, they were replaced by restyled W123 bodies with horizontal headlamps in 1975. The larger W108 bodyshell was employed for the 280 six-cylinder and 350 V8 saloons, and, in longer wheelbase form for the 300SEL, during the 1968-1972 period.
This 1969-manufactured righthand drive 280SE convertible with 2.8 six cylinder engine and automatic transmission has been owned by the vendor for the past six years. He tells us that it has had a stainless steel exhaust fitted and that the general cosmetic and mechanical condition of the vehicle is reportedly good. Your chance to acquire a really well engineered classic with styling that will never date.
