1924 Bentley 3 Litre Tourer

Offered here is a later-entered Bentley 3-Litre which was manufactured in 1924. The open tourer coachwork is very rare, having four doors and being the only Bentley to have been bodied by Romilly Motors Company. Indeed, it is claimed still to be as originally produced by the Cardiff craftsmen with all instrumentation correct and three additional switches at the bottom of the dash for the cooling fans.
The vendor tells us that the 3-litre 4-cylinder engine was totally rebuilt in 1996 with Phoenix crankshaft, Carillo conrods, a block rebore and resleeve, new camshaft and sixteen valves, and carbs reconditioned. The fuel pump is electric.
The differential has also been rebuilt recently with all planetary gears and bearings renewed. Whilst the waterpump was reconditioned in 2001 and the car has the advantage of having an overdrive, which was fitted during 2000 when the brakes were also relined.
The owner claims that this characterful motor car is superb in every respect and has only recently covered an 800 miles trip to the Isle of Man without troubles. Some original parts and logbook come with the car.
