Lot details Registration No: OGC 88D Chassis No: BM7/3026M6 Mot Expiry: Sept 2002
Vehicle production by Beardmore ended in Scotland in 1929, but their Taxicab's were continued to be manufactured up until the late 1960's in a London factory. This served as the service centre for all the Beardmore cars and although they were obviously very robust vehicles not as many survive today as you would imagine.
This particular 1966 example was one of the last examples produced and comes with the Weymann built coachwork and is described as being in good condition throughout. There is a good history file with the vehicle which shows that it has been maintained in very good running order and the engine and gearbox have been reconditioned, the headlining and trim has been replaced.
It was operated in the capital until 1967 and still retains its taxi-meter, fare card and hackney plate and is still structurally very sound and original. Being very original with all the correct fittings and currently tested and taxed you should not be surprised if you get stopped for a lift into town!
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
