Yet again H&H have dragged another forgotten piece of motoring history from the recesses of some hidden parts of the mind and the country into the sales arena.
This, believed to be unique, Jowett Jupiter was first registered in November 1950 with the registration number LOL 1. It has since received its current registration but was transformed by Frank Grounds, a Birmingham garage owner who converted many Jowett models into shooting brakes during the 1940's & 1950's, using the Jupiter chassis and bonnet, Morris Minor doors, a Javelin windscreen to which he fabricated an aluminium rear end.
It competed many times in rallies and events but its best result was in the 1953 Monte Carlo Rally where it finished a very creditable 36th. This is a car that is well documented in the Jowett Club archives but it has languished for many years and is now in need of a complete and total restoration to return it to its former glory.
Offered with an interesting file of history that includes a V5 registration document, press cuttings and a letter from the Jowett Car Club, this represents a very interesting project that will qualify for various historic events.
