Unveiled at the 1937 Motor Show, the Morris Ten Series III was visually distinguished from its predecessor by a simplified grille design and painted radiator cowl. Based on a box-section ladder-frame chassis equipped with all-round semi-elliptic leaf-sprung suspension, telescopic shock absorbers, Bishop cam steering and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, the newcomer was powered by a 1292cc four-cylinder engine allied to four-speed manual transmission. Benefiting from the adoption of overhead valve gear, the Series III had some 37.5bhp at its disposal which reputedly allowed it to reach 65mph and return 30mpg. Available in fixed- / sliding-head saloon or special coupe guises, the model accounted for 13,719 sales before being supplanted by the unitary construction Ten Series M during 1939.

Finished in maroon over black with red upholstery, this particular example has been on static display as part of a private Lake District collection for many years. Although reported to have been driven into the collection building under its own power, the Morris is currently a non-runner and will require recommissioning and re-registration with the DVLA prior to road use. Sold strictly as viewed the Ten is accompanied by an expired tax disc (November 1973) which shows that it was formerly road registered as `DKF 415'. Sadly, there is no other documentation with the car.
