Lot details Registration No: EOM 196 Chassis No: 15571 Mot Expiry: None
This particular car was purchased by the present owner in rolling chassis form in 1998. It has been completely rebuilt as a fast road/competition sports special for VSCC events, for which the blue form has been obtained.
A brief summary of the work carried out includes: chassis shotblasted, primed and painted, the engine and gearbox mountings have been moved back fifteen inches and the prop shaft shortened; all pins, bushes, linkages renewed or refurbished together with brakes and linings; road springs re-tempered and re-set with a flatter profile at the front and slightly softer at the rear to take the lighter bodywork. Also at the same time the engine received all new, re-metalled bearings, new pistons with slightly higher compression height, rebuilt and gas flowed cylinder head, twin SU carburettors and a baffled sump has been added with 1.5 gallons of Castrol R40 racing oil. The gearbox has been stripped, checked and rebuilt and the aluminium coachwork was fitted by K.Frost in the Midlands, who produced a light, strong, functional body in a period style for the car. Many more new parts have been fitted and we recommend that you look through the car's history file in the document office to see the exact extent of the work that has been carried out over the last two years.
What an exceptionally inexpensive form of transport which is ready to perform admirably both on the road and on the track.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
