Overseen by Peter Morgan, the Plus Four Plus was introduced during the 1963 Earl's Court Motor Show. A valiant attempt at diversification, the newcomer was the Malvern concern's first and thus far last fixed head coupe. Decidedly handsome, its rakish fibreglass bodywork was both lightweight and aerodynamic. Based around a standard Plus Four chassis equipped with independent 'sliding pillar' front suspension, a leaf-sprung 'live' rear axle and disc / drum brakes the model was powered by a 2138cc Triumph TR4 engine developing some 105bhp. Reputedly capable of 110mph in standard tune, the Plus Four Plus was priced at £1275 7s 1d. Too radical to woo marque traditionalists, just 26 are thought to have been made before handbuilt production ceased in 1967.

Reportedly the fifteenth Plus Four Plus assembled, this particular example was despatched by the Malvern works on 17th June 1964. Supplied new via Fergus Motors of New York, it remained on the other side of The Pond until 1977. Entering the current (third) ownership thereafter, the Morgan underwent a sporadic twenty-seven year restoration during which it was fitted with a new chassis, converted to right-hand drive and uprated to 'fast road' specification. Finished in Midnight Blue with black leather upholstery, 'PHB 415B' is said to have done "less than a hundred miles since completion". Offered from a deceased estate, the coupe has spent the past few years in dry storage. However, we understand that it passed a recent MOT test with comparative ease. Outside of the factory car, 'PHB 415B' is thought to have been in single ownership longer than any other Plus Four Plus.
