Lot details Registration No: KPL391K Chassis No: AASAS793700 Mot Expiry: Nov 2004
Offered here is an Austin 1300 4-door saloon, which was purchased 21 April 1972 from Henlys of Epsom by the first owner, a Mrs Roberts, who specified such extras as inertia seat belts and heated rear screen. Since then, this still one owner from new rarity - with a claimed to be genuine total 27,018 miles on the clock - has always been garaged and maintained locally to her. Even the original main dealer rear window sticker, tax disc holder and logos on the number plates have survived intact as well as MOTs dating back to 1977.
We understand that this car remains exceptionally sound, particularly in those areas that are normally prone to corrosion, the sills still with their stamped numbers being the originals. All four doors are claimed to be rust-free too.
The engine was recently removed for cosmetic refurbishment, during which bypass hose, temperature sender, oil pressure switch, oil filter, distributor cap, rotor, points and condenser, driveshaft coupling and battery were renewed. The car sounds and drives very well apparently, providing excellent performance while maintaining normal engine temperature.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
