Ashley Laminates Ltd produced fibreglass body shells from 1954 to 1962 and they were in the first wave of British firms making glass fibre bodyshells for fitment to Austin 7 and Ford 10 chassis.
The example of their work that we have on offer for you today is unique as it is, as far as we can ascertain, the only Tornado chassis with an Ashley body. The original correspondence and invoices are in the car's history file and paperwork and since it was built it is believed to have covered a mere 14,000 miles from new. Finished in British Racing Green it comes with the 1172cc four-cylinder side valve engine which has the aqua tuning equipment twin carburettor head and it further benefits from being fitted with a water pump and comes with the three speed manual transmission.
Rarity has a value and they don't come much rarer than this and it would certainly be an ideal starter classic.
